The President of “Jathika Buddhist Front” Dambara Amila Thero has criticized the objection regarding the election policy statement made by the TNA which would pave the path to an Eelam government nourishing the dividing of the country..
Participating in a media conference the thero said that the duty of Gotabhaya Rajapakse is over from Welliyamulli, Vaikkal and the army should be sent to the barracks and the Defense Secretary should stay at his office.
Expressing his ideas Amila thero said “ It is not the manner the statement of TNA has to be addressed. We saw Gotabhaya Rajapakse saying “ keep in mind, this is Sri Lanka, you can’t play with” . It means that Tamils are in Jaffna due to the mercy of us. In his statement it says and means that Jaffna is not a part of Sri Lanka.
The Defense Secretary made these statements only with the satisfaction of the victory in Welliyamulli Vaikkal. He should keep in mind that his duty was over from Welliyamulli Vaikkal. Now he should know to keep the army in barracks and be in his office without shouting with his cloth in his hand.”
LTTE was not happy with his behaviour even before the war. He was lucky to save his life without getting caught to the bomb. The recent past, some NGOs organized a huge programme to keep him silent. Amila thero is the Leader of Jathika Buddhist Front which is combined with J V P and the thero was a prominent character in the strike of university lecturers which was ultimately a failure.
